Who Am I?

Hello,

Let me introduce myself. My name is Tina M. G. Stark. I am an Enrolled Agent. I took my first H&R Block basic class in 1988 while living in Michigan.    In 1990 after moving to Arizona, I knew I needed to learn how to handle Arizona taxes.  Returning to H&R Block, I was hired and worked off and on there for ten years.  Although I tried other careers, I kept returning to taxes.  In 2002 my passion for the industry brought me to Jackson Hewitt where I worked until mid-2005.  After-tax season in April of 2004, my boss challenged me to sit for the IRS Special Enrollment Examination (SEE).  I accepted that challenge.   That summer was busy.  I ran the year-round office and taught the basic course, all while studying for the SEE.  I passed the SEE, getting my scores in December of 2004.  In August of 2005, I opened my own office and became my own boss.  I decided to go into business for myself because I wanted to give the kind of service I feel all my clients deserve, without a manager timing me and telling me I spend too much time explaining what the tax code says and how it applies to your specific situation.

I joined the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) in 2005, along with the Arizona Society of Enrolled Agents (AzSEA).    In 2008 I completed the National Tax Practice Institute and became an NTPI Fellow.  This is a fancy way of saying that I took extensive representation courses to be able to effectively represent my clients in front of the service.

I served the Arizona Society of Enrolled Agents as a Director in 2008 for a one-year term. I then served on the new chapter development committee which opened a new Chapter in 2010, which is now my local chapter; Phoenix West Chapter of Enrolled Agents (PWCEA).  I'm a "has been" on the PWCEA board, which is to say that I've served as President and Past President and it is now someone else’s turn.

I attended the Schuldiner/Smollan Leadership Academy, sponsored by NAEA, in November of 2015, and completed my SSLA project; Review (or Develop) CE Record-Keeping Policies and Procedures.

Thanks to Covid my business had become mostly virtual anyway. I currently still serve on the AzSEA Board and I'm the Immediate Past President (again) of PWCEA.  My terms will be up in June of 2024. I'm looking forward to my time as a board has been.
